The difference is mostly in the mounting arm. Later model does not stand out away as much as the earlier models which needed to clear the motor and cables.
I don't recall my old 1/79 blades being any bigger than my earlier blades bit it has been awhile since I had the 79.
I have two 78 windshields on two of mine and a 74 on another. The blades are all the same size. A bigger blade would be nice.

I guess my main question is whether the windshield mount holes match up?

On the ones I have owned. 9/69 thru 1/79. All the mounting holes and the mounting brackets were the same. The only difference being the arm.
Maybe someone could measure the holes on a newer arm. It would be nice to have a better visor that just bolts up.

Anyone know if the 79+ sun visors fit earlier year FJ40’s, particularly a ‘77? Looking to get a new OEM set and noticed the blade on the later years is bigger which would be nice.
I have the newer sun visors (74320-90303 & 74310-90303) in my '77. The mounting holes line up correctly.

Thanks GA. I'm not the tallest guy on the basketball team so having sun visors that reach a little lower on the windshield will be welcomed. I'm ordering an OEM set from Cruiser Corp.

I have a '67 and wonder how these 69+ units will fit with the wiper motors?

I have visors in my 9/64 FJ45LP-B. Using the same visors my 68, 70, 73 and 76. The 69+ is only listed because Toyota dropped everything from the parts system prior to 3/69 many years ago. Bolt pattern is the same from when the visors started during the sixties until the end of production of the 40 series.

I went to an upholstery supply house and bought some steel rods that were the same OD as the originals and made my own sunvisors. I made them much longer so they barely clear the rear-view mirror, Used the original swivels and got some hard 1/2" padding for the inside "guts" of the visors. In retrospect, some hardboard would probably last longer. Took a few tack welds to hold it all together. Sewed up some new gray vinyl covers for them. Looks and works great.

I bought sun visors from Specter Off-Road last week for my 1970. It looks like they have what you want in stock.
