I looking for a 2 kid bike trailer. The prices for these range from $150 schwinn to $800+... from the looks of it they appear to be similar in construction, what is with the price difference?

It has tie downs in the cargo floor for holding a child seat as well. the bench is removable etc... plus I can ride to the grocery store and fill it up.

as for the trailers, all of my friends have the burley trailers, they seem to like them. Check craigslist for deals as there are usually a couple for sale on there.

best trailer hands down that I have used is by chariot. I have their single trailer but they make a double as well. the beauty of their trailers is that they attach through the skewer rather than having a big metal clamp and your nice carbon fiber frame. I have gone 40mph down hills on the road bike with my son in the back and it tracks straight and true. You can also buy accessories like last year for Christmas I got a cross country ski kit for mine, the wheels come off and skis go on. the kids love it and while it was more $ than the burley it was well worth the cost.

I have the double Chariot and love it.

We bought a Schwinn from Costco online, it was fairly inexpensive and it works for our needs. It says it has a 100 lb weight limit, but I saw the same model carrying someone who weighed in around 300 lbs or so with no problems (looked like their regular mode of transport).

The best thing I could say is to make sure to get a trailer that is designed like your bike; ie serviceable bearings, strong frame, etc. I've seen far to many "bike" trailers that are strollers with a bike hitch, and the owners always wish they had a better trailer.

bump for the burley....

This trailer is the shiznit... I take the kids out every other day for about an hour. It has a solid axle and suspension. You can jump curbs and etc. with it and the kids will love it.

two thumbs up for the burley cub.

Bump for well.... my boredom.

Been looking at trailers now for the kiddo. Seems many like the Chariot over the Burley even though most say the Burley is still the staple of trailers.

Anyway going to go look at this one tomorrow. Seems like a good deal @ $40.

Any other considerations on a trailer for a 2yr old? We just plan on peddle around the neighborhood.... and when she out grows it use it as camp hauler.
