Stuck doing head gasket months before doing supercharger

No I am not taking all the cometic HG, they go to OZ. Some one over there uses them. But they are nice. You really need a newish surface to use the MLS head gaskets IMO. But if I had the choice of using them instead of the OEM one. Welllllllll, take a guess.
Anyhow it would add a bit of money to the overall gasket job. Interesting choice of gaskets these days. Some MLs, OEM, copper stuff and custom. Not like it was a few years ago.

Just a quick update. Discussing a few things with Robbie and may combine other work that has been pending along with trying to find other local people around that could also use his services as long as he is here.

Also, for what its worth, I dropped in one container of Bar's Stop Leak and it has taken care off 100% of all my symptoms. The vanilla latte is gone, the over heating is gone and the coolant loss is gone. I don't think I can do another dye test until I do another oil change. Been driving it around town and the ScanGauge never reads above 190º.

Well, at least you picked the best.

We'll make sure we get him off the Con in time to come fix your truck.

:grinpimp:

Just an update. My financial situation took a severe nosedive after I received 4 BK notices in under 3 months. So pretty much everything that was planned is now on eterna-hold. I informed Robbie last night that I can't do much now but I met a mud member over the weekend who can take my places for Robbie to help out. I'll post up if there are any changes.

BTW, the Bar's stop leak is STILL holding up with no issues. *crossing fingers*

Hey NLXTACY,

Sux man, sorry to hear. I emailed & PMed Robbie regarding his trip to Socal yesterday. Waiting to hear back from him.

That stuff may just limp you along for a year :hhmm:

Why don't you just do the work yourself? You seem knowledgeable about everything engine-related. Might as well just tackle this and bust it out.

Well I thought about that. Its not the engine work that concerns me, its everything around the engine work that concerns me. I got Doug's DVD and I've been reading up but I know there are going to be snags along the way that will make me regret not having someone who knows they are doing right beside me.

The other issue of course is down time. If I'm doing it it'll take a week or more. That's an issue being as now I need to start looking for fulltime work. We'll see though. Its not out of the realm of possibility.

Seriously, if I can do it, you surely can...and I didn't use a DVD or anything beyond the FSM which makes it about as straight-forward as possible, and some good threads here.

Yes and it took you couple of months and a backup car :D Granted, you were doing other stuff "while you were in there".
