This weekend while working on my 1993 Cruiser, while disassembling my knuckles i encountered a wheel hub stud that had been cross threaded. This ultimately led to the nut on the stud to spin and spin. The Nut threads were clearly destroyed because the nut would not come out further than the picture below:

I searched the internet and MUD for this problem, but all I could find was info on JUST a stripped stud or replacing a stud. So in the interest of this community I wanted to add how I fixed this issue. This is what it looks like prior to extraction:

1) Ordered a few new studs in case I encountered this on the other side:

2) Used an angle grinder to cut the stud and nut completely off. I left a bit of stem for later extraction.

3) Used an extractor to remove the destroyed stud

4) Use double nut method to install back into Wheel Hub

Thanks all. Hope this helps.
