Holy thread resurrection and new info!

After several setbacks and negotiating a new deal on a new facility, my friend Rich Dolido of Windy City Rods and Restorations has acquired a 50k sq ft space. He knows it's late in the season but would be more than happy to store your ride. Not only will there be storage, but there will be the ability to wrench on your junk as well. He's willing to deal AND give a "club" discount.
The new facility is located in Niles IL near the intersection of Caldwell and Howard St. It's a secure facility with alarm and fire system installed. You're ride will be safe.

If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM and I'll pass along his info to you.

What club?

I hope it isnt your personal club....

I dont want to join the "No Ball Pussy Loosers Club"

anyone?......"Out Cold"........anyone?

Listen Fuzznuts, I'm trying to help a buddy out. He could care less if its the IH8Gingers. He's looking to get a couple of sponsorships and a couple of "clubs" renting his space makes him look good on the paper. It's a back slappin', butt smackin' deal he's offering on storage too.

Now go s*** on the Hoosiers. They haven't been "blessed" with you presence often enough.

Can i be president of the Ih8gingers club?

I've been offered a nice deal on my storage with the ability to wrench there if needed. The only thing I'm looking to do over winter is to get the correct 4.11 gear third member and an anti-wrap bar done. Easy peasy 1 days worth of work. He's pretty much a pro resto guy and has had a couple of cars in Hot Rod. If you talk to LynchMob, he can definitely vouch for the guy.

I get nothing out of the referral. I'm just trying to help out a buddy.

Phil, I just talked to Rich. They have some pretty big plans going! I hope it all works out, that will be a great business. I'll get the word out to the Gearheads and see if we can fill some spots and send him some work when they get going.

Don't forget your bib's ready, punk:flipoff2:

Not trying to poop on any ones parade, but many of my clients (factories) have looked into doing this very thing, especially recently. And the block is ALWAYS the insurance company. The liability of unknown custom vehicles, tools, and personal injuries, etc.....But I assume the guy has taken care of that....

Valid questions John. Rich already has resto business established sharing a smallish shop on the North Side of the city. In essence he is moving to a larger space for his resto business and using the excess space for storage. His current insurance policy is being upped. He is already an established business and the space he is leasing with an option to buy has passed muster with his insurance carrier. The space is a former industrial machine shop and has been kept up to code since it was built. (Sprinkler systems, security systems, etc.)Granted being allowed access to do some mild wrenching is great but I'm quite certain there will be waivers and other such nonsense involved. He's quite anal about his cars and even more so about his business.

Just as an FYI, he is chomping at the bit to get into this space and is more than willing to work out long term and short term deals on storage. I'm not pushing this because he's another copper. I'm pushing this because I can honestly say he is a genuinely a good guy.

Sounds good, the waiver is key. Im sure he knows but make sure a lawyer and the insurance company approve of the waived liability. He is lucky to have gotten this, and guys should jump all over it!! Its a rare oportunity to have a place that you can store, AND work on a vehicle, while other vehicles are around, etc...

My latest client to try this is in Aurora. They kicked out a tenant to use the space for storage, and is currently trying to pull this off and even with the waiver the lawyers said the company is never absolved of ALL liability. And they are scraping the idea. So again, this is rare and he should have no problem filling the place!!

Now I just need to find a 40 to stick in there!

I almost forgetted about that bib! I'll yell at you tomorrow and go for a uniform adjustment in 16.

That facility is a stones throw from your driveway.

Yeah, he's gonna be close...

As far as tomorrow goes, I'll be booked up with doctors appointments until probably 12:30ish. No rush on picking that thing up if you don't make it. Of course, the scrap-man has been eyeballing it...:D

The storage area is on the other side of his building across from his work space. He's keeping them seperate. If you need to wrench you'd have to move the vehicle out of the storage area to the work area.

Bill if you're around Saturday I can pick it up then. Tell the illegal metal picker to go pound tortillas.

forget the 40, you need to get a 1958 Plymouth Fury preferable red and white in color.
