Stock 2016 LC, My high beams actually suck IMO

Your high beam setting is most definitely not working correctly for some reason. In your pictures, A.) My high beams would light up that entire road well past that yellow sign, B) My high beams would light up the entire tree line, C.) My high beams would at least get to where the diagonals meet at the cross. It's almost like your high beams aren't even working or are blocked by something.

OP what kind of change do you actually see when you hit high beams up against the garage door? Maybe video that and post for other owners to see whether it acts the same?

If I were to guess I'd say your high beams have been adjusted down for some reason.

Those housings appear to be LED-only, no halogen bulbs. Said LEDs are probably surface mounted and yeah, not changeable. But.. I think it is extremely unlikely both sides would go out.. considering LED failure of any kind on 2016 is basically not talked about on here at all.

I made some adjustments and tested them out tonight.. improved? maybe a little yeah, but I feel like I'm just putting the low beams higher.

The effect when I turn on high-beams, feels like a bi-Xenon system. (no increase in brightness, in fact my dog lights are brighter).

I'm going to take it to the stealership and have them look at it (especially since the driverside bulb has a purple tint to it)

While I'm there, I'll try to find a new car on the lot that has LED low & high beams to compare mine with. Thanks for giving me hope!

Do the low beams in the US spec 2016-up 200 function as high beams too? In the photos it looks like the low beam cutoff remains the same even with the high beams on. Over here the 2016-up VX grade has a shutter for the low beam projector, turning them into high beams. So you get 4 led high beams when you flick the switch.

Yup. Your high beams are not right at all. Like LALC said, my high beams would make a huge impact in all of your pictures.

The adjustments for the high beams and low beams are different. I suggest you follow the manual for headlight adjustment. It isn't intuitive (at least for me) so I had to play around a bit for them to move in the correct direction.

The 4 diagrams in the picture below show the direction of turn to adjust. There are two holes you put a Philips screwdriver into to turn a gear. Also both lamps are LED

Check this thread out. Any issues with headlight brightness or aiming on 2016+ models?

Also try and get a copy of the FSM for the headlight adjustment procedure per spec. I think it just said to park 3 meters from a wall and find the center of the beam and mark it and then adjust the headlight to center the beam within an allowable zone.

@Union, thanks for linking to that post, that was a gem! I'm actually livid about this..

Thus far in my experience, everyone should know regarding the 2016+ headlight fixtures:
- hi/lo bulbs are not replacable
- turning the adjustment screws "too much" will break the internals entire headlight fixture ($2,000 per side)
- outer adjustment screws are for horizontal adjustments (h)
- inner adjustment screws are for vertical adjustments (v)
- manual and stickers under the hood indicate that you should adjust both the horizontal and vertical adjustment screws simultaneously at the same turn rate

Will it actually "break" or does something just unscrew, and if you are willing/able to open the housing it can be fixed? I know companies are offering "black out" service which involves opening and closing the housing.. so it is possible.

No problem dude. FWIW I didnt screw them simultaneously. But I did do them both the same number of turns and dont seem to have issues

Just checked to make sure all my adjustment "screws" work and indeed they do.. Sharing the diagram I came up w/ for my own understanding.

She's going in for service Tomorrow. Hopefully they will replace both headlight assemblies at no cost since I'm bumper2bumper covered. Wish me luck

If anyone has a set of these lights that they've turned the adjuster too far and the internals came apart, I'd be interested in getting one to see if I can come up with a DIY fix. I haven't had any issues with mine, so I can't experiment on them.

Really like the fact that my 2015 allows me to adjust the headlight aim height from a dial on my dash. Super easy.
I definitely miss that feature (I had it on my 13 as well). With the LED lighting, you lose that control. It was especially useful when towing.

Steve, how did it turn out with the dealer and the headlights?

The rear height sensor on 16+ should account for this... or at least I assumed that was the whole point of it. To get rid of the manual dial.
