I made these boxes and grills out of Aluminum I also made a "very custom" box and covered in in fiberglass for the 8 in sub thats under the seat between the gas tank and the tool box (tight fit)
It sounds great and the sub makes up for the smaller speaker sizes, 3 1/2in in the dash and 5 1/4 in in the back.
I'm not to good at this picture thing so here goes

The speaker bracket is mounted to the side of the glove compartment.

I mounted a pair of indoor/outdoor speakers on the front verticals of the rollbar in my '77. It provides a fairly decent experience, but I'll definitely be adding some smaller speakers up front under the dash to round it all out.

Using simple black pipe couplers (chosen to match the diameter of the roll cage piping)found at Home Depot, I was able to securely mount the brackets attached to my in/out speakers. I did have to snip the rubber bits of the coupler to allow them to overlap and provide a tight fit - see attached photos.

From memory... the speaker was 6 or 8Watts and 6"x4" IIRC.

Wow, yes this is an old post - I haven't been on this site for years. I don't really intend on making these again, or the fronts that matched. If someone wanted to make a few sets I could likely dig up the templates and sell the templates to someone willing to make them.

I put some 5 inch all weather speakers in a pair of chrome kc daylighters I had ,retro look and sounded great...

I used this for the front:

And these for the rear:

Personally- I think the combo is perfect

I can supple a picture of the fronts tomorrow.
