I took the nuts off, tried pounding the bolt out to no avail. Looks like it might be threaded? I tried using a couple of allen keys through the hole in the bolt to turn it out but bent them both and it didn't budge. Am I missing something?

Mine came off with no issue. If your's is still attached on the weekend, I'll give you a hand with it if you like.

If it is the same as a 60 it is not threaded - but a tapered pressure fit. Mine was a nasty b1tch to get off when replacing. Pickle fork or the Princess Auto puller - gonna get me one of those.

My Foggy Memory

It's all coming back to me now... A big pickle fork and a torch. It didn't want to budge until it got red hot.

Thanks for all of the tips. I will give it a go tomorrow. I am in the process of doing a lift so I just skipped the stabilizer install for a day. Tomorrow I plan on finishing it all up.

Holy crap, what a PITA it was to get that thing off. The drivers side popped right off. The the pass side did not go easy. I was getting really close to making a trip to princess auto for the tie rod puller thing and then it finally let go after about an hour of pounding and heating. Everything else with the OME lift went pretty much flawlessy though so I guess I can't complain. I did learn one valuable lesson with the lift that I thought I'd share. When removing the old U-bolts make sure to have a floor jack jacked up under the spring to take some of the tension off. When that thing let go it nearly took my head off. A rookie mistake that I will never make again.

hummm, i have never have had to use heat to get a stabilizer off. use the right size pickle fork and a BIG F HAMMER. usually 2 or 3 swings and the thing drops to the floor...

2nd that great buy, also works good for pushing wheel studs out!!

It would be a great buy at $10, but it was $30 when I went to get it, so I bought a BFH instead. I'll get it the next time it goes on sale.
