On/off track for a moment. Does the 55 have a rod bracket like the 62? And is it located at the rear or somewhere other. I was crawling around the junk 55 this weekend looking for one, because that is the truck I found the rod in. It has a spare tire under it that might be original and I want it, but between the weeds and Kudzu, I could locate how to lower the spare. And if it has a bracket, I would be interested in what it looks like. End Moment.

Lol , I had forgot the 55 had the hole integrated into the rear sill . Spent a lot of time looking over a couple of those trucks sitting abandoned in this area , never have found an owner and the red/white one disappeared this summer . Shame to see them slowly rot away .

I know one of the old threads had a pic of both versions of the starting handle ...one is longer and that is the one for the 55's spare tire/starter . I also have a thread that describes the length and bend points for the 40 series starter handle which is what I'm using for a baseline . Again , still better to have the real thing in hand for making reproduction parts .

CaseyE - can you post up a pic of those clips ? If they do indeed fit a 19mm rod they would be a better pattern to get the radius of the bends from and better analyze what material they are made of - already discovered the storage clips for the jack extensions are a very odd 17ga metal . Not easy stuff to find .

Same clips I bought of here earlier that you saw the pics of. I forget who directed you to look at them, but I believe they are for a 45.
