Yeah I paid only $170 from Larry H Miller Toyota online just over a year ago. Maybe I should shop around on labor I was basically told it was a full day job
I don’t think the 3 hours the guy told me over the phone will hold. I need to have them give it to me in writing. And yes, it is the smaller one.
 
@TeCKis300 has written about this, but basically every starter failure on a 200 is the attached solenoid, not the starter motor itself. This part is available separately for much less money, though the labor to install is the same and if you are paying a dealer for the work it is likely they won’t want to do just the solenoid, but the whole thing.

If you are changing it in your driveway this is another option.

Also have we confirmed the smaller unit is the same horsepower (aka kW) as the original? I know on the 1FZ-FE in the 80 series there were up to three different kw ratings available with similar changes in overall size.
