1999 LC stalling out NOT in normal driving or stop and starts but when changing gears to park or move from reverse to drive. Fuel pump shows 44 psi just changed filter and still does it. Faint gas smell comes and goes.
AI says to check IAC, vacuum, maybe canister.
Anyone ever has this happen?

Mechanic already replaced fuel filter too. Hes planning on smoke test soon.

I replaced most lines couple years ago. No code. Up to date on all maintenance & parts

Stall when moving shifter to P, which takes load off A/T and drive train. My first though is: Short in neutral park switch circuit.

I'd recommend using the service manual for troubleshooting. AI is an idiot.

I agree with @2001LC, it doesn't sound like an engine problem, at first blush.

Fuel pressure regulator. Gas in air box
Hope it helps someone
Will test tmrw

Only way that could happen is failure on vacuum side through to fuel side of FPR. Nothing I've seen, but I suppose could happen.
But you'd surely fail the FPR test, that's performed during fuel pressure test which you showed 44PSI. I fail to see, how shifting would result in a stall, from this.

I do sometimes find oil in air tube (resonator), which comes in through PS PCV hose. Or ATF (PS fluid), which comes in from failed idle up control of vane pump.

Thnaks . I'll pass this on to AJ Yota (LC mechanic)
