After slacking for a year I started my project today. The hood pins went pretty smooth and I just need to find a plastic washer to take up a little gap.

If you can measure the gap with some filler gauges I would be more than happy to turn down your pins. Unfortunately you would have to send them back.

Please keep in mind that none of these stamped factory hinge frames are exactly the same. I tried to pick a measurement that is a average across the board.

Maybe next winter, thanks for the offer. By no means am I disappointed with your pins they are great and removed the slop in the hood. I will get the windshield pins in as well but I had to walk away yesterday.

No worries, Just let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.
Thanks.

Unfortunately my windshield hinge isn’t going to be so easy. I’ve been thinking the drivers side hinge pin was broken and it was. I was able to get one side out with a 20 ton press but even after heating the other side the hinge started to deform so I stopped. I’m now trying to sort out my next steps since I don’t think the center will be any easier. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. I’ve had an extra set of windshield hinges kicking around and thought I would try to remove the broken pins.
My 20 ton press didn’t even budge them. Kind of even distorted them. Ended up drilling them. Still a bear! Seems like they are somewhat hardened but I got them. @SMG, what size is the bushing? I ended going to 3/8” to get them all cleaned out.

Are these beautiful hinges still available?

With the colder months upon us, what a great time to replace those nasty hinge pins and bushings.

Stay safe my friends.
The last time I put my windshield down it was kind of tough. Then when I put it up it wasn't aligned right!

And my hood hinges have a lot of play in them.

At least the colder months in S.AZ aren't that cold!
