i posted it in 40 section also...i think i will be getting the muffler some time in june...i have 100 now...it was a good birthday :)

by june i should have enough money saved up to get muffler and brackets...then i'll bring it to a muffler shop to have the tailpipe fabbed up in SS.

if you respond back you'll have your 1000th post...boy how time files :)

well i am in the process of ordering up the stainless steel oem copy muffler...it will be:

overall length of 28"
the case will be 24"
inlet length and outlet length will be 2"
will be 5" round ...this is just over the stock size.
the inlet ID will be 2 1/8"....i have a 2" od down pipe
the outlet will be ???? waiting for the tailpipe from SOR...and so the muffler will be built upon my measuring of the tailpipe.

Sor says the tailpipe is 1 3/4" ID seem kinda small...sooo...i have held up the construction of the muffler till i get the pipe in hand.

the only other change is that it is offset inlet and the outlet is centered...we'll see how that changes things whe i line it up...i also have the oem brackets coming in also.

it will look like this ...in 16 GA type 409 Stainless Steel

any thoughts???

Ya baby

Did you find someone local to them with a 40 to test and fab up the whole line, or are we going to have to buy the rest of the tubing from someone else, and mix and match to make a stock look?

Are you expecting a "stockish" sound as well?

i am buying a tailpipe from sor and brackets....soooo we'll see how it all fits when i get all the pieces together :)

I will be sending them info on the fitment when i get it all together also :)

they say it will have a stock sound...not glass packie at all

the case length is 2" off from what i asked for and the tailpipe side OD is off a bit also...but...overalll i am very happy with the look of the muffler.

here it is with the oem muffler hanger...i had to expand it out just a bit to accomidate the larger diameter of 5"

we'll its in the truck...sounds like stock and looks like it will last forever...the tailpipe is another story...had to cut it down a tad to fit...and had to redrill the two mounting holes for the rear bracket...but its done :D
