Was occasional, now squesks all the time as the front moves up/down on bumps etc. 100 has AHC

Is getting annoying now. Any ideas on what it is? Squesks from both sides.:flipoff2:

I would be interested in any suggestions as well. However, mine is an '02 Cruiser with standard suspension and the squeak comes from the rear. It is not the shocks as those have recently been replaced.

Is there something that needs to be lubricated? Tightened? Replaced?

bushings.

Do you think it could be anything else. Mine now makes the squeak noise too; however it came after I lifted mine...I was thinking it was my bumper moving around but that's on there tight as can be.

I'm thinking the bushings have dirt in them or they are dried out, I was an idiot a few weeks ago and washed the underside of my 100 with that degreaser stuff at a quarter car wash. I'm pretty sure that's why mine does it now (I have re-lubed everything). My suspension still squeaks a lot, I'm currently chasing it down as I can hear it inside going over pot holes at a low speed.

My other thought is it could be the coils shifting and causing the noise, mine came post lift as well, but just started a few weeks ago.

Any idea to tell what bushing it may be? Sway bar, etc.

My squeak tends to be more pronounced when both tires hit the bump, also the right side seems louder than the left.

Thanks.

Not that I know of, my sway bard was a little loose a few months ago and cuases a loud popping sound. If you can re-create the noise by rocking it, have somebody jump up and down on the bumper or rock it back and forth with the roof rack and slide underneath with some oil. Go through each bushing/bolt until you find it.

I doubt this is the problem, but I am gonna check to see if the squeak lies in the bushings of the OME shocks. I can't figure out what else it would be since I never had it before the lift.......at least I will be able to rule out that theory

After looking underneath the truck I think the noise may rest in the upper bushings of the front shocks. There are two metal washer type pieces on the shock which contact the upper shock mount of the chassis. The upper shock mount of the chassis is metal and when hitting bumps these may make the squeaking noise I am hearing. It makes sense that if the upper shock bolts are not tight enough then you would hear the noise as you went over bumps (I only hear it over potholes and large bumps..) The OEM shocks are constructed in the same manner so it's possible the bolts may just be loose and rubbing. Now the reason it is may be more apparent on the OME shocks is possible to a slightly different design than the OEM shocks which causes the rubbing of the metal pieces to rub easier.

These are just thoughts though.

Control arm bushings. I replaced mine after they started making squeaking and thunking sounds. They rubber dried out and was spongy. Same thing for the rear squeak. (trailing arm/ control arm bushings).

The whole front should be around $300 for the parts.

Just found that my new OEM front shock upper bushings were responsible for the squeak on the cruiser. What's the most effective way to "lube" the OEM bushings?

This drove me nuts for a couple years as well. Finally found it was the OME front shock upper bushings. I just had them too tight, I had to loosen them a little was all.

Have notice this lately ftom front end on my lx 470 over speed humps. Check front end ball joints upper and lower no play and rumbers still good condition.Checked AHC shocker bushings look ok to .May be control arm bushings or sway bar.

Were you ever able to figure out how to grease that upper bushing on the shock absorber?
Will spraying it with Silicon work?

I had a squeaky sound to over bumps my PS lower shocker bushing was worn.I changed by lower both sides and also both upper bushings no issue squeaky gone.Best to replace them not silicone spray.

My 2003 with 301k miles started making squeaking noises from hitting very small bumps in the road, rocking the truck back and forth, and from turning the steering wheel back and forth while parked. I'm betting it is the power steering bushings because it takes very little steering wheel movement to make the squeak or squawk happen.

High pitch mouse squeak, or barn door creaking ? Different noises can lead to different things. Luckily you can re-create the noise from rocking the truck?

So get a fat friend and have them rock the truck back and forth. Crawl underneath and start feeling around. You should be able to feel vibrations and hone in on the noise. My guess is that you'll find the ball joints of shock bushings to be the culprit.

The PS steering bushings don't make too much noise when they fail, you just get sloppy steering. They also don't move much when rocking the truck, so if you hear it while rocking it's probably suspension related.

Your getting close, get down there and post the results back here

Check the sway bar bushings too (links and mounts).

Both of my sway bar links are broken so it can't be those :)

I sprayed, upper and lower control arm bushings last night and it did not help any. I am wondering if it is my power steering bushings because very small inputs from my steering wheel cause a squeak

Stop spraying rubber bushings, what spray did you use?

It's most likely not your PS steering bushings, turning the wheel and hearing the noise doesn't necessarily relate.

See previous comment:
Mouse squeak or barn door creak?

You can recreate the noise by rocking the truck? Get someone else to rock the truck while you get down below and try to figure it out.

Or, we can keep taking guesses and accomplish nothing =]
