It was a great adventure yesterday, perfect weather, and great scenery. Good job wheeling George, John, Greg and Graham. I also have some video I shot with the Contour HD camera, but you will have to wait until I get back from Winnipeg. I will have to get Graham to post it. We had people from the yacht club, and the police wondering how we got through to that side. I would like to go back there to the Point and camp, that area was really nice, and no deer flies to bother you, like on the trail. I do have to admit I would rather be bitten by a fly, than a mosquito anytime.

All the videos I posted were shot by Lance. Nice work! Try to get lucky in Winnepeg... It is a whole new 'ball game' for you...

The po po actually came to tell the people from the yacht club that they can't dock at the dock. I cant remember the reason, but there is a sign that says No Docking. It's too bad, because supposedly, it doesn't get used often.

The dock was built with gov't money and was used by Fisheries and environment canada for research and maintenance of the river and estuary. Boaters have used it as their 'private getaway' for years- but it isn't a public dock. We used to go over there in the dinghy and go for a walk but in the last few years before the road was washed out, the reception from the 'locals' wasn't always cordial.

There are three yacht clubs as stakeholders in the end of the arm. Royal Van owns outright the Wigwam Inn and the surrounding very large parcel in perpetuity. Iron bay and Clementine river are owned by the Burrard YC and Deep Cove YC but I am unsure of the title arrangements. I suspect the people at the dock aren't involved with any of the three clubs as they would likely be tied up at one of the facilities. As an aside, the Wigwam Inn has a full time live in caretaker, it's own diesel electrical station etc etc. I think the yearly cost of maintaining the property is absolutely staggering.

well as far as i understand from the dock up the valley floor is burard indian land or at least traditional hunting fishing land so jurisdictional governing is a big questionable area.and got my bumper on now so i hope not to slow us down anymore. BAAD ROCK.BAASH ROCK..and yes johns pto winch is i bet rated about 15,000 lbs plus, being he pulled the 4400 lbs concrete block and the hdj 81 full brakes on with ease, that is a tough pull with my 10000 lbs winch with a two part. that was johns fish too.
