Very stock, but with great upgrades like a rebuilt 2F engine and 4 speed transmission. In excellent mechanical condition, needs nothing, just had over $4,000 of work done by Camelback Toyota. This is a great rig if you're looking for a true, original survivor that hasn't been abused, where the major work has already been done. This truck is well on its way to being fully restored, but it's in such great shape that it's easy to enjoy as-is. Will send detailed list of all completed work on request.

Asking 17,500 OBO. My collector's car insurance values replacement cost at between $24-29K. I will also consider trades for full-size SUV's--Land Cruiser 100 Series, Sequoia, 2007 and up Suburban, Volvo XC90 with third row seats, etc..

It is...and yes, very good condition. Some minor rust spots in the body. It would make a nice 40 for someone.

how about this 87 Toyota Soarer owned by CBT rental manager and hubby. Adding to their expanding collection of rare, older Toyotas they very recently imported it and learned all the ins and outs of the process. Pretty cool to look over: the AC controls are in Japanese, the trunk holds the "air purifier", right hand drive, etc. (He just installed the wood grain steering wheel)

This is the Japanese version of the American Lexus SC. interesting reading for gearheads http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Soarer

Big plans include modifying this vehicle include swapping the 1G engine with the 7M and a manual transmission. Suspension modifications and more.

The winged lion emblem is cool !

some pictures from the CBT grand opening when we moved to the new location (cant believe its been 4 years already)
excerpt:
Thanks to all the supercool Cruiser people who contributed to the Grand Opening Car show from CSC: Rex and Rita (1985 Supercharged Mr2), Damon and family(40th Anniv 80), Steve H (restored 40), Matt and Loren (restored 83 pu 4x4), Jack A. and Jack Sr.(restored fi V8 40 and the 55), Scott (Oz 45 troopy), Mark, and Jackson who came loaded with his camera. Of course Frenchy with his 58 Toyopet Crown. Other folks also had a Supra, 92 MR2, and assorted Toyotas.

Almost all of these have been sold by the then-current owners who have gone on to other projects or newer vehicles. Always moving forward ;)

Guessing the rear corners/sill have already been repaired once and that is rust starting to show again by the reverse light. My 73 only has two spots of rust at the double wall area at the ends of the rear sill. Advantage of being in the desert keep clean and it won't continue to rust. Twenty years and mine hasn't grown any larger.

Never started mine but it's orange and going to be slower, maybe why I've never ran it.

Fast forward to installing the complete OME light duty lift with 331050r15 BFG's mounted on OEM steelies and caps.
Like the look much better - rides alot better too. Still suprised that CSC pricing on OE FJ40 hubcaps is $16.50 each!

Speaking of spy shots, our place is being used for hot weather testing on the upcoming new model RX. This one has a turbocharged 4 cylinder. The guys were testing different fuel they had specially shipped in and were mapping the fuel system. Four guys in the car loaded with laptops and monitoring equipment.
We knew we had a secretive car coming in and were hoping it was the FT1 - they said before they came in we werent supposed to take pictures but got the green light today because being released very soon to all the magazines/ press releases. The front end looks very smart but didnt get a shot.

Seems like a good place for this....

I just watched that '70 series' video twice.....music was spot on, rig is perfect (IMO). So sad those aren't apparently headed our way.

Almost as nice as Saddletramp (steve's) FJ40 that sold at Rm auction. Here is a nicely resored 1974 FJ40

Frame might be 74 but tub and other things are from a 72. Hopefully customer restored and didn't buy it this way thinking it's really all 74. Reverse light in the tub and gas door opening were the first clue. Because of the interior picture I would say the cowl was from the 72 and not a 74.

Man you're right on the money, good eye there John, that's exactlyhow it is. He had it restored for himself.

Its been in the family since new and set it up for personal enjoyment on Sunday drives.

:hmm: I know it didn't come from the factory this way. Was it a 72 or 74? Nothing wrong with it. I bought my 68 back in 74. It had been rode hard and put up wet many times but was all original. It's really in better shape now but also a mutt. Top is off a 73 (laid it on it's side in 75), side doors off a 79, front seats out 74, back seats out of a 76,.....

Probably one of the coolest unobtanium cars ever in AZ.

Windshield washer nozzle at the top of the windshield and front seats belts attached to the roll bar and not the hard top make it a 78 not a 77 which were the only two models years with the round bezel and vent windows in the top along with the later door mirrors.
