I need new springs for my 47. The rears that comae with the truck are way to short and I'm thinking they may be off of a 40. The fronts are barely long enough.

This is to be a work truck, not an off-road beast. I expect to carry heavy loads from time to time on the flatdeck.

I'm planning to get anti-inversion shackles with greasable pins.

$OR has factory front springs for $512/each - ouch! They do not have a listing for factory 45/47 rear springs, so I'm suspecting they are no longer available.

$OR has a 45/47 heavy duty spring package, giving about 2" of lift, for a total cost of around $1000.

Then there are the OME springs, for around $1000 for the set, which some people rave about and which some do not.

Then there are the parabolic springs, again which seem to have given rise to pretty divergent opinions on whether they are any good or not.

CCOT has HFS springs that would fit the front, giving 2.5" lift.

That seems to be about it for options, unless someone can suggest others.

So, which ones to get?

OME is nice and will probable fit your needs perfectly. the 2 inches of lift sound perfect for your needs.
there is one other option Alcan springs do a search on them and you will see what other people think of them. they will build you springs for exactly what you want and last I checked were about 220 or so a spring. you could get a 2" loft set for the front and a 3" or the back to better handle loads but talk to them regardless they are very knowledgable in the spring depatment
I plan of running Alcans on my fj45lv I have had OME's on my 3 other cruiser and while the rid is nice they don't have enought lift for me. IHTH

I have 5" Alcans on my 45 and love them. They will build the spring to your specs. The called me three times before they built mine to make sure they had all the wieghts right. The total cost was $812.00. I highly recomend them.

...I'm surprised that the Alcan springs, though custom, are less expensive than the OME.

Alcan makes a great spring, no doubt there... if I were in the market for a lift taller than the OME offerings, Alcan would be my first choice... however if your in the 2-3" market, the OME has the cake IMHO. Lined spring clips that allow flex while keeping the noise down, teflon pads between leafs, the ability to customize your springs to your vehicle by using add-a-leafs designed for the particular spring, etc.

Also, if you were just buying leafs & bushings... the OME's would be nearly an identical price.

:D
