Tore down the intake manifold, while off the engine. Check out the fluid setting in the cambers. How does that happen?

Gasket are ok, seals & O rings are so..so, should I reuse or replace them?

Interesting. I think those are the first pics ever of the inside of the intake manifold. Good question about the fluid. By the color, it looks like oil to me.
And I voted yes, if it were me I would replace all the gaskets and seals if I was already that deep into it.

I sprayed Sea Foam fogger into intake and drove about 5 plus miles before tear down. So I assume it's the tarnish/sea foam gunk. I'm just very surprised how it pooled in those spots.

It's great piece of mind to replace gaskets and o-rings while you've already got it apart.

Additionally (if you haven't already considered it), I'd have the injectors professionally cleaned/calibrated. I haven't done it on my 100, but have with several other older vehicles. The diesel/injection ship in my town charges $12-$18 for each injector, which usually includes new o-rings and seals, cleaning, and calibration. It's a lot more economical than new injectors, that's for sure.

Good thinking. I just did a Google search in my area for professional injector cleaners. If I can get cost down to $100 for the set, I'll be happy.

@2001LC do you remember what the torque was on the bolts and nuts that connect the upper and lower manifolds? I can't find any info in the FSM.

I did an intake manifold refurb and didn’t replace the fuel injector I rings and gaskets. They immediately leaked air after reinstall.

Had I done it again I would have replaced the gaskets and I rings on the injectors.

My truck has 275k miles and I think it was running the original gaskets till now

Replace seals on fuel injectors. A faulty seal can cause a vacuum leak. Good idea to calibrate the injectors.

2001LC, try fuelinjectorspecialists.com

He is in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and he is a nice guy that will treat you fairly, and he will turn the injectors around fast with a flow test showing the outcome.

He will also install all new seals and O-Rings.

I am going to have him test/flow-check the new Bosch Green Giant injectors that we bought for our Oldsmobile project car. Many new injectors don't match or can have an issue right out of the box, even good, name-brand ones. He even gave me a set of bad injectors that I needed to use for some mock-up on our Olds engine that were the right length.

You don't want to be chasing a weird issue with a lean or rich cylinder because you didn't have all the injectors cleaned and flow-tested.

Also, replace all gaskets and seals and O-rings of all types on the intake manifold, not worth saving the money to have to do it again.

I've used FIS many times.
