When you bounce the vehicle or hit a rock hard that 50# can easily become 150# or more for a micro-second thru inertia.

Still not convinced it's a problem in an everyday 4x4. Now if you're going to rock race your junk I can see it's usefulness.

Remember, In my case I'm running an SM420, Toybox, Split case. There is no cross member for the tranny. Its only supported at the bellhousing. Adding an additional 10 inches to the length of the driveline makes the moment-arm that much longer. Keep in mind, the reaction force at the bellhousing is a function of weight AND length.

I'm really not trying to debate weather this is necessary or not. I only wanted to know if this plate already existed or if I'm gana have to cut one out myself.

To remove all question about whats going on here, I drew up a diagram. I may need to have a MOD move this to HC. I just thought I'd have the best chance of finding the answer in the 60 section since split cases came in 60's.

Thanks for the input guys

Just my .02... but I wouldnt leave it like that, It'll probably cause the the adapter plates for the toy box to come loose. I am running a sb350 sm 465/toybox/split case and have had no problems for two years in my 40. using just the two motor mounts and a heavy duty toybox mount.
