I’m doing a full front overhaul on my 03lx. New wheel bearings/spindle flange/calipers/rotors.

I set my new bearing inner races to what seemed like they were fully seated. However, now that I’m trying to put the snap ring on the spindle insnt out far enough to engage the snap ring. I can see the edge of the groove and can’t get it to come farther out (I also greased the needle bearings). Is there something I’m missing before I tear it all apart to see if that inner race is fully seated?

Thanks. I pulled it apart. Sure enough I didn’t seat the inner race deep enough. It’s still tight but I have the shim kit with different thickness shims.

May not pertain to your instance, but way back in the past, I did the same job and got the wheel bearing seal, flipped around. This created interference and the wb hub would not fully seat on the spindle this made the clip impossible to install pulling it back apart and flipping the seal around fixed the issue. Just in case this helps some other user. Note the flat side of the inner wheel bearing seal needs to be to the outside, and the bump or rounded section needs to be facing the bearing.

If used, a snap ring thinner than 2.2MM (factory). You've not pulled axle out enough. In most cases, a 2.4mm or greater is needed.
