Spindle cap ring clearance issue

I’m doing a full front overhaul on my 03lx. New wheel bearings/spindle flange/calipers/rotors.

I set my new bearing inner races to what seemed like they were fully seated. However, now that I’m trying to put the snap ring on the spindle insnt out far enough to engage the snap ring. I can see the edge of the groove and can’t get it to come farther out (I also greased the needle bearings). Is there something I’m missing before I tear it all apart to see if that inner race is fully seated?

You will need to pull the axle out slightly. You may:

• Grab the axle from behind the knuckle and pull
• Install a bolt to the hole in front of the axle, pull with plier or creativity
• Buy axle puller tool from mud member

Thanks. I pulled it apart. Sure enough I didn’t seat the inner race deep enough. It’s still tight but I have the shim kit with different thickness shims.
