Speedo is WORKING!

Finally was able to get the speedometer working!

I have a question, is the speedo supposed to not be smooth as it goes through speed? I noticed it jumps slightly through 35 or about.

I’ve never had a working one so I don’t know.. thanks

Yes, it should be nice & smooth. Before you go & by a new one consider removing the cable frome it‘s sheath, clean it up, lube it up & reinstall. Not always, but most likely will solve your problem. For lube, I use Sta-lube. EDIT…not Sta-lube (prob would work tho), actually used Fluid Film, which works great for this.

The speedometer cable has a rigid inner steel cable/rod that spins inside the sheath. It’s lubricated at the factory. After a few million rotations inside the sheath, the steel cable/rod starts binding a little and spins more in bursts than the smooth easy rotation it used to because the lubricant has worn out.
