My kids love it too.

Thanks for the response. Looks like there are some kids/wives coming. For the kids, are there any planned activities? Or anything there that will entertain them? I dont think they will want to ride in a truck the entire time

I don't know how old your kids are or what they like to do but I can tell you what is available for them at the park. There is a small playground with swing and slide and such near the pavilion and camping area. There is a small creek running through the camping area that most of the kids have a big time playing in/around. The park has a "Kids Zone" area near the back of the park. This area is allocated for kids to ride their wheelers, motorbikes, BMX bikes, etc without fear of any larger vehicles in the area. There is a small shelter here for the parents to sit and watch their kids as well. There is a small pond that makes a great time killer if your kids are into perch jerkin'. Also, there is usually some form of kids raffle or dirtiest kid contest at the pavilion on raffle nite (someone should confirm this for me as I am not involved in this planning). Always kids running around with RC cars, etc too.

Guess I could add that Hot Springs is a resort town with lots of activities too. The ORV park is very near a large water park that could entertain your kids for days. Things like the Duck boat tour are always a hit and the Mid-America Science Museum was one of my kids favorite destinations. In short, plenty to do but you will have to design the weekend around what your family enjoys.

Hope that helps some.

BTW- don't forget to bring my white FJ80 lift gate;)

Awesome info wannabe, much appreciated. That's exactly what I wanted to know and will discuss with the fam. Kids range from 4-9, so hopefully there will be some kids in that age range there.

Yea, I will be bringing your tailgate for sure, I think about it every time I look at it on the truck. :)

Talked to the wife and she's in. Reservations are made at KOA. FYI, the lady at the KOA gave me 15% off. Just tell her it's for the SCC at SORP. We're going to (try) bring the pig.

Glad to get some of the Austin crew to this event. Lone Star will definitely be in the house. :grinpimp:

I can't wait to stress test my new knuckles.

It can't come fast enough for me. I am in serious need of some down time and some Cruiser fellowship.

Just spoke to the KOA in Hot Springs.

They have the following availability for the SCC:
These have a full bath:
Kottage - Sleeps 3/4
Mini Lodge - Sleeps 5
Big Lodge - Sleeps 6

6 standard Kabins are also available.

KOA is giving a 15% discount for SCC attendees, so be sure to ask for it.

Trying to talk my wife into coming up with me. Are these pretty solid cabins?

And how does it work out staying here as opposed to camping at Superlift?

KOA is nice. Party as long as you want, then drive or find a DD to take you back to KOA for uninterrupted sleep. Wake up to good breakfast on site and clean, hot showers. Then, back to the park.

It pains me to say this because I'd rather party at the park and have people stay at the park to party, but there is a reason half of CLC will be at KOA this year.

Yeah, that reason is called the BBQ tossing contest that some guys decided to have last year at 2am. Scared the :censor: out of me.

Seriously, the KOA is nice and very close to the park. Personally I think the cabins are a bit over priced but for a quiet night's sleep after a day at the crawl it's probably worth it.
