The rollers are zinc plated steel.

The roller fairleads most new HD winches come with have stainless rollers that are made from tubing that isn't very thick. These rollers are 7/16" wall thickness steel.

I know for a fact the fairleads cost significantly more than the $20/ea I'm selling them for to manufacture.

I bought 2 Albright 500 amp DC88 contactors from the web site (((powertrain-integration-products (359)))), who is USER PIP from Oregon about 6mos ago.

If this matters to any one, the Albright Contactors DO Not come with mounting brackets from PIP as seen in Gnob's test and comparison on the previous page.

Customer service was pretty bad.

Can you tell me what happened? How did my customer service disappoint you?

I just got your Ebay message (same user name) an hour ago, but Ebays site is not letting me respond on my phone.

In response to your question- Sorry, no. These Albrights do not include mounting brackets. The pictures in the listing and the dimensioned drawing in all my sales ads are exactly what you will receive.

That said, I sell these in bulk and I have had several requests for mounting brackets. I do my best to accommodate my customers needs and I have 500 billet Albright mounting brackets in process as I type this. They will be added to the listing as a $5 option as soon as they are ready to ship.

Again, please let me know how I've let you down so I can improve.

Thanks!

I found your site after looking for an Albright for my 8274 rebuild project.
Your price seemed pretty fair compared to Warns.
I ordered 2.
I sent you an email after receiving the contactors.
I said I did not get the brackets, and asked if they were shipped separately.
Your reply was, No, they don't come with brackets.
I replied, your web site pic shows brackets....(you have changed the pic since then).
You said, send them back if your not happy.
I took that as OH well!

Yes, I remember this. I forgot to update the website pictures and description. I wholly owned that mistake in my email response to you. I offered to take them back. Iirc you asked again if there was any way to get the brackets and I responded there was not.

My response was NOT "OH well". If it came off that way, that was not my intention whatsoever.

I definitely forgot to change the website pictures. My fault. This was awhile ago right? 6 months or so? Can you still use the mounting brackets? I can put your name on the first 2 if you like.

Thanks to those who've reached out with requests and suggestions for the Albright mounting brackets.

Question for all the Warn winch users out there-

How many variations are there in the control pack baseplate? I'm considering making either an entire new base plate or, if it's feasible, to make an adapter that fits the Albright to the original Warn baseplate.

I have 3 8274's here that all use the same control pack baseplate. I have a large size M10,000 from the early 90's that has the same control pack baseplate as the 8274's. Then I have an M8000 I bought new around 2000 and it has a different baseplate- The slot for the wires is long and skinny. The older style has a square opening for the wires at the top about 1.5" square.

Older style top.

Newer style Bottom.

Are there any others?

I do know of one other. I've seen a couple in the last 5 years. I'll get a pic for you tomorrow. It's essentially flat with the protrusions to mount against the motor. It uses a bracket that is hose clamped to the motor. The plate bolts to the bracket.

The newer style plate looks like it's still current and sold as Warn # 31887.

Thanks to Fourrunner for this picture showing how he mounts his Albrights and routes the wires.

When I mock an Albright up on the bench in the same position as Fourrunner I think odds are very good I can make mounts that screw to the Albright and attaches to existing holes in either of the control box base plates I have here.

I look forward to any input!

I have one of those! It's on this Warn 8200 I picked up for my '70 Highboy.

That plate must be the first design, before the other two.
Very interesting. I've heard that Warn would mix and match parts often. Probably phased out that older plate after they started the 8274.

Cool old winch btw.

Just an update... To make these Albright mounts I designed a high density machining fixture so they can be made cost effectively. I bought a few dozen specialty fixture clamps for the fixture and they are coming from the factory... They haven't shipped them yet. They say 2-3 weeks from now I should have them. When I get the clamps it won't take long to finish the mounts.

Now we're getting somewhere.

Upper style is universal for mounting to front bumper, underhood, in your golf cart or service truck crane.

Lower style fits the Albright in place of the 4 solenoids in any Warn winch.

Here's the Albright installed on one style Warn base plate.

Here it is installed on the other.

I didn't plan it this way, but the Albright is clockable right or left facing and shifts about 1/2" up or down depending how you mount it. Not sure that's useful, but it does it. Who doesn't like versatility?

The mounts are USA 6061 and will come with stainless mounting hardware.

The mounts will be going off for anodize next week then they'll be ready for shipping.

Here’s the one I bought for my 8274, & the one I would recommend. I forget just what the difference was…but when I was doing my research there was a positive difference between this DC88p-1000 & the regular DC88.
