There appears to be little to no online presence in the UK for many of the older Landcruisers so I'm going to jump on board and hopefully fill my boots with the world of wisdom on here.

We've always had something a bit different and fun to use at the weekends and despite being in probably the flattest part of the UK I decided I needed an FJ40. We had a J120 for about 8 years as a daily so developed a bit of a soft spot for Landcruisers. There aren't too many FJ's over here so I've wrongly or rightly decided to import one from Indonesia (they drive on the correct side of the road like us ;) )

It's going to be towards the end of the year before it arrives so I've got to make do with the videos and pictures I have whilst reading about all the potential pitfalls I've probably bought :slap:

Welcome to Mud.

Where in the UK?

There are are or were a few fairly regular posters from the North of England, Scotland, and the Republic of Ireland. There's loads of them from the Commonwealth.

I think @45Dougal is in the UK. He frequently chimes in around here.

I wonder if @45Dougal is the same guy who works with a lot of classic car clubs on the import of Longstone tires? Hadn’t realized he was from the UK!

The truck looks nice…. Hard to believe it’s a “working rig” in Indonesia! Hope it’s a good one!

South Lincolnshire, looking out over the wash. Basically as soon as sea levels rise I'm screwed but I'm banking on it taking another 40 years and then it can do what it wants.

Just get yourself a snorkel and you'll be fine.
Spent some of my childhood looking the other way across the wash, but finding Bristol to be more to my taste now.
Nothing to do with tyres I'm afraid - must be someone else.

DM me if you're looking for parts etc and I'll see if i can help. Might have been good to import some parts along with it
