I don't think you have anything to worry about David.
Carmax does a pretty good job going over the vehicles they sell.

I have yet to hear about anyone being less than satisfied with a purchase from them...but then again, I've only spoken to 9 or 10 customers...which, in totals sales, is nothing

the 5 day return deal is nice though...

I wonder if the 5 Day return covers checking to see if lockers or the 4wd works correctly? :)

David, what are some rover message boards? I am curious as to what they say about their reliability?

I wish it had lockers to check out :frown:. The 5 day deal is for any reason. I will give her a good going over once at home.

www.discoweb.org is pretty popular, although they're die-hard Rover fanatics over there, so don't expect anyone to make a big deal out of their lack of reliability .

My Disco is just going to make it (I hope!). The other night coming home, I noticed the automatic day/night mirror is starting to look kinda funny. They have a tendency to go bad and dump caustic goo all over the dashboard and radio. I'm hoping it will hold out until it's on Carmax's lot and all money and paper has traded hands....;p

DavidD first thing to buy is a difflock switch...See CDan for that...

David D,
Congrats, that's exactly how my rig looked when I got it. Same color and everything.

Update:

Called Carmax yesterday evening to see if there was any news on the LX. Sales dude says he'd checked earlier and it hadn't even been picked up by the trucking company yet! WTF?!?! Talked to the sales manager and she promised to find out what the problem is and let me know asap. This morning I receive an e-mail from sales dude saying that they were assigning my truck to another carrier and that he'd let me know as soon as he knew more. Argh! Back when I decided to buy the truck, they told me that it could take up to 21 days. A day or two later, they call to tell me that it's scheduled for pick up on April 26 and the ETA here was May 6. Sales dude further tells me that it usually takes just 4 days from CA, so it could be sooner. So much for Christmas coming early...

I spent much of this past Saturday getting ready for the blessed event by removing stereo gear from the LR. Forgot the factory radio code, and the dealership won't give them out over the phone anymore, so I've got to go by LR and prove to them that I'm the owner to get the code so I can at least have some tunes while I wait...

I know, I know. Patience! I'm just anxious. I hope it will be worth the wait!
