I love the name... the idea looks great.. but as with most infomercial-products It probably sucks.
i found a couple reviews on amazon.com, target, and here: J Rations :: View topic - "Son of Hibachi" portable grill for your 4x4 trip
I've got one. Its really nicely made, and nice'n'heavy
Perfect for car based camping - and no nasty gas bottles.
sounds good
did you purchase your "soh" in the uk?
I'm not sure I like the put-it-away-hot deal...

Given that charcoal isn't allowed most of the summer in the Sierra gas is a good choice. I like my $40 Walmart grill.I've used this gas Weber for many years and it's done a fine job on the trail.
yes, it's propane, but honestly, I think a small bottle or two are much easier to deal with on the trail than bags of charcoal.

Back then they were just called Hibachi's I'ts a Japanese style grill.
My Mom had one when i was a kid (20+ years ago) I always wondered if they still sold them.
Im getting one for sure.
the standard hibachi doesn't fold up and get stuffed whilst hot into a canvas bag...
some kind of fire proof canvas.

may be they used some other kind of fire proof material other than cotton canvas.

I wore fire shirts when I work with the Forest Service. They did not burn, I know this from first hand experience. I was working a fire that crowned out over my head, it was pretty much raining fire. My shirt did not catch fire. I got burned through the shirt, and my boots were fried but I did not catch fire.
coated with asbestos?
