But for the SUb $300 pricetag?

I don't want to drop $1500 into a solar system for my camper.

I would purchase one quality 30 -40 watt panel, and a good charge controller and inverter and call it good.

Are you just wanting to keep a second battery charged up?

You could also just buy a charge controller and use your alternator.

I agree. That's one 30-watt or a couple 20 watt modules. If you have the coin, the Unisolar are unbreakable... but I've had good luck with the chinese or hecho in mexico.

ex: http://www.altersystems.com/catalog/duralite-20-watt-solar-panel-p-79.html

the pricing on these smaller modules is so ridiculously high, that I plan on offering kits like this to local cruiserheads (module, charge controller, simple wiring diagram)... just need to get my butt in gear.

Basically, I want to have a backup power device to keep the batteries topped off, and a slow charge if I happen to leave an outdoor light on over night.

24V 15w panel

Measures 38" x 13" and is about as thick as my thumb.

Neighbor has two of them hooked to his Honda Pilot to keep the battery charged. (He is a tight azz and won't buy a new battery.)

I'm surprised with the panel at near vertical they do much of anything.

I use CDT small solar panel for my electric gate and have been very happy with performance and quality.
CDT Solar -

For my Land Cruiser I went with a high quality used 55watt Siemens panel (13x48). It will keeps my frig at 28 degrees 24/7 even with outside temps of 100+ without ever starting the Cruiser.

Looking into this again.

I sent my info to Gifu/SolarCity for a free consultation.

Electric Bill is beyond a reasonably limit. With the forclosures around me in the pasrt few years I'm getting nailed with excess use fees. They compair my usage to the forclosed homes homes around me. Lat month the exess use fee was over $300.

Flipping mind blowing.
