Your rig looks sweet. How come no windshield vent?

Thanks, Eric.

There's no vent opening at all on the outside of the windhield frame . . . . just these covered cut-outs on the inside.

Kilometer speedo, no apron air intake, no windshield vent. This 25 is becoming more rare by the minute.

When you take the inside vent covers off, does the outside look like it's been welded shut?

Steve, I'd be willing to bet it was glued on with gasket goop or something. You should be able to get a working vent back without even damaging the paint. Take the covers off the inside, you should be able to see how the outside got attached. If the little screens were left in there they just clip in.

It should only take a couple hours...........like mine did.

Nope. Literally no outside vent at all. Solid, smooth and no traces of welding from inside the back.

Thanks Steve. You saved me a lot of time. I am gonna buy this wiper moter.

You bet, Archie. This one is semi-gloss black, but easily paintable. What's nice is the accompanying blade arms are adjustable in length.

Wow Steve, I thought I remembered one of those light colored plates on the outside too.....I have to get some sleep.

When I first saw this on ebay, one of the first things I noticed was the absence of the vent. At first I figured it must be a hard-top thing. Here's Deepak's ebay pic.

Speaking of something else I might be missing, do all versions of the 25 have the rear quater-panel reflectors?

Mike
Where do the amber ones go  ? The one bone stock one I have only has three. two in the back and one on the driver's(all red). None on the passenger's side. The spare tire carrier on the later sixties had two small holes in the center that I thought might be for a reflector but no holes on the 25 soft top tire carrier:confused: . I think three of my have at least holes for rear reflectors but none in the front. my two early forties are the same way. Jim,Phil anybody else????

John

All the reflectors are red. Mike, you got the ones with the flange / ears? Not the same as the ones with the studs on the back.

I think these were installed at piont of import and not at the factory. I don't have one handy but I think they are the same reflector as on my military trailer. They were installed with sheet metal screws instead of nuts and bolts. probably a U.S. thing to be able to import to the states. I think all the early refectors I have are U.S. made.

John

The ones I have are Toyota and have studs with nuts on the back. They must still be available from Toyota because Mark only tears off the part numbers on parts that are still available from the factory.

The ones w/ studs are meant to fit the 40 and go on the rear frame......I made the same mistake. The other ones look like this one on Eric's and line up with the holes in the tub. I had to use cheap aftermarket ones. John, I checked the military ones and the whole spacing was off.

good, those will be going back then.....

I got ambitious today and took off the aluminum diamondplate cover that the PO had put over the frame horns to find that both horns had cracks in them around the holes for the hooks, and on the ends of each horn. The drivers side wa actually ripped partially and had a really bad booger weld repair. After 2 hours with the torch and the welde, they are looking factory again.

hey steve,

is there any major difference in original toyota wiper moter and this jc whitney one? also I would need your help in putting power steering in my fj25.

if anyone has already done that please post some pictures of that, I mean steering box mounting and power steering pump mounting locations, which kit to use? etc....!!

I am not too tech.

Thanks.

one more thing guys, I need to know the original location of OEM steering box mount, I think PO on my rig had it changed??

Also on tranny, it has a original 4 speed, what are the other options I have if I want to replace it with any other 4 speed or 5speed. and what are the modifications I will have to do with my drive train & transfer case?
