It's with a heavy sigh that I say goodbye to an old friend tonight.

Made it through almost a decade of my abuse, and came within 35 miles of seeing it roll 300,000 on the odometer. Three engines, four transmissions, two transfercases, about 10 driveshafts, a new body, a three car pile up, a broken frame, four broken front axles... This thing has been a warrior. God speed it on its trip to its new home in Leawood Kansas. It really is the end of an era.

I understand being conflicted about something you have spent so much time with.

But to be clear, what really has 300k on it? Only the odometer?

35 miles???? You couldn't drag it to Deckers and back. You sir, have no soul! I think that I would have towed it in gear around the block a couple of times if you were that close.

Haha! I had to drive it to the airport to meet the buyer. It made it to 299,997 when he took off with it. Vic, sold the 40 too. I'm clearing the yard out, getting rid of licensing fees and parts money. Keeping up with all these rigs was getting daunting.

Not real sure. There's got to be some wheeling there somewhere. Some good stuff in north Arkansas and Missouri. Oklahoma too. Just depends how far he wants to drive.

Cleaning out the garage of all the parts that have been hanging around for the old 4runner. So weird. I would imagine this is what it's like throwing away all of someone's stuff after they die. Wish I would have given all this crap to the new owner, but then, the extra weight might have stopped it from making the trip. Haha.

^^ Now that's funny.
