On another note, my DDM tuning kit decided to go stupid...so good thing I got the stage III kit with morimoto HID

lmao, yours too? My passenger headlight was flickering like I was in a cheap strip club going home the other night. I was winking the whole way home. Worked tonight but I can hear the DDM stuff buzzing quite loudly.

mine's still white and works well (when it works). I'm just tired of a half-asses beam pattern.

Doesnt matter, those ballasts are still good, I'll use them for my HELLA foglamp HID conversion and the morimotos for headlights

I am going to pick up a set of uber cheap offroad lights and put them in those. I will ghetto mount the bulbs. I can get a set of ricer offroad lights for like 10 bucks.

after reading that thread, the problem seems to be with the bulbs, not the ballasts. If I get the XB35 bulbs, it should be fine.

I was reading through the thread again! It is the bulbs according to the posts! They said that some aftermarket bulbs produce more heat than the ones TRS provide

a wiring harness will usually solve that if you are not using one.

Here is the 4300k color temp bulb

this is 35w, so 55w should make it look white! You are safe IMO

This 100 series section had a great group buy a couple of times...so why not try projectors! Bixenon projectors!

So I was about to start a retrofit project for the landcruiser this weekend. Upon ordering up the parts, I asked Matt at theretrofitsource.com if we could setup a group buy like they did on the taco forum! There will be discounts starting with 10 plus buyers but there will be a larger discount if we get 25+ buyers! Here is the email:

Thanks for your patience waiting on a response via email - as you know, calling in is always a quicker way to reach us as our email volume is just through the roof here.

Anyways, we can definitely set up a group buy (no matter how big or small) for the people over on the LC forums. I know we've worked with a handful of Landcruiser guys already and most have gone with the Mini's for a well performing, nice fitting setup. Ie:

The 80 series pictured is using morimoto mini projector housings!

I am told by Matt that the morimoto mini H1 projector is what we should go with but you can get the d1s as well!The morimoto H1 is recommended because it comes with the 9006 adapter plate! Also, the morimoto mini projectors are compact to fit almost any application!

There are other projectors, shrouds and CCFL rings to be considered as well! Just go to the site(link at the end of this post)
Group buy means we get a list together, I forward it to him via email and he gives out the code to me to forward to you! So my only role here is sending the list to Matt and preparing the list!

It does not matter what we get but I think they need us to purchase complete projectors or the complete retrofit kits! There are tons of options so if you need motivation to do this retrofit, pls join the list and we can all help each other get a discount This is an awesome deal if we can get 25+ takers! If you registered to get the group buy, you are an existing member, because you have a user name. I think they wanted to keep people that just found this on google from ordering. I wouldn't think you would have an issue.

If you have a username, you are good! I'm sure your username was registered before you ordered, so you should be good!
