I'm on the heater control valve now. I've got the rubber elbow in hand and the metal pipe on order as well as the rubber connection to the block. Why this pipe is missing is beyond me. (That entire link seems overly complicated.) Anyway I cannot seem to the find the actuator for the valve. I found some pictures of what the valve end of the cable looks like. but I cant find anything like that. I did notice a small plastic nipple leading through the firewall is this where the cable comes out? Judging by the feel of the temperature slider in cabin I'm guessing this is electrically actuated?

lets hope you dont have to take the dash out, if you buy some heat and sound deadener to install behind the dash when your there.

Your HVAC controls are run by a cable. Should go from your sliding controls in the cab, through the firewall, connecting to the heater control valve.

and yes, it is controlled by a stepper motor.
