Oceano Dunes is requiring sand flags for ALL vehicles if you venture anywhere except right on the beach front.

Does anyone know of a good local source, internet or do you plan on just stopping at one of the shops on the way in to purchase one?

I paid $10 for mine from a vendor on the beach last time I was there.

So you say, beach front. If you just drive down and park to camp.. then you don't have to have one??

Here's the link to the regulation.

Appears as if you need a flag regardless, but here's the info straight from PismoJim's SnT FAQ:

Do I need a sand flag?
YES! New regulations now requires a whip and flag for all vehicles in the dunes. The regulation also prohibits specified vehicle operations that are unsafe but do not rise to the level of reckless operation or child endangerment. You can buy sand flags at a couple shops near the Pier Ave entrance.

I think the LX 450s should just strap a pair of bright pink panties on the CB antenna and call it a day.

That is what I would do I were going to SnT. Damn I wish I was!

Flag attached to my CB antenna should work just fine. It's more than 8' off the ground.

Ok, let’s imagine that I’m getting lingerie at the Victoria Secret store close by…

How in the world I could explain that to the wife? A pink panty in my hands… oh honey, is for the cruiser, new regulations about the flags and driving over the dunes… yeah right…

I’m getting my flag at Pismo, simple, unexpensive… no worries…

a thong isn't very visible, and probly the last thing you want a bunch of crusty cruiser heads looking at when they are dune'in. They might be hoping to see sumthin else too!

Apple catchers would add too much drag, and slow you down.

You can get them at the local dirt bike or motorcycle dealer/parts guys too.

We need a logo'd flag screened onto vinyl....hint hint...

Coco's corner down in baja has some of the largest underwear I've ever seen stapled to his walls. Some chonies meant for a 500# woman would be the hot ticket on top of your cruiser.
