Snow run this saturday

me and my hummer, greg in his rubicon, and my dad in his mega scout tried to push on but were met by sean and his buddies comming off the mountain. sean has beadlocked 40 inch crawlers on his tacoma and reported that he and his well equiped crew were forced to abandon the the quest after deeming the trail impassable. that was enough for me, greg, and my dad and we turned around also. im curious if anyone on the mountain made it to the hwy today.
i need to find some cheaperish/worn 44-47" tires on 16" or greater wheels so as to make the lexus a better snow warrior. i cant flex the lexus with them on, but a flatter trail such as this one would allow the big meats to work well. anyone got some/know where some are?
bald is untouchable now and will be for some month (s). as the snow starts to thin up at shaver we should plan an overnighter up at the cabin. lets start putting it on the books. we cant put a date in stone as we need to plan the run for a time when bald mountain is passable. think end of feb/ first part of march

Turning around on the trail.
Seemed like there was more than the usual traffic on the trail heading back.
I must have burned all of the french fry oil out of it. LOL
I didn't get a lot of pics because of time spent driving and looking after 2 energetic boys.
It was kind of funny to be waiting at the gas station, seeing a bunch of Toyota rigs pull in, followed by a bunch of Heeps. For awhile I didn't know who belonged with who, until their group all took off at high speed.
The guy in the red Jeep behind my '80 must have waited awhile for his group because he was at the back of the line when we turned around.
These were some nice 'Yotas...
...and a nice Jeep.
Count three olive green rigs in this pic, all different makes, but all in our group.
Club prez.
On the way back we stopped to let the "kids" play in the snow, and to let Slickrock get out from behind D'Animal.
Overall, it was a great time, and I was glad my rig did so well.
