Nice! Looks clean and has a roof rack. Is this the one that was on auto trader?

Maybe I should just leave it this way huh? :D looks like a big shadow monster is coming for it.

Its the big transformer monster going for it, let him do his work ;)

Yup. After I exhausted many of the leads on craigslist, I had to start thinking outside of the box-- just too many dead ends, flakes, and liars on CL. I actually found all of my best prospects on dealer sites after searching around. Never thought to look at dealer sites in the beginning because I figured the prices would be too high.
I ended up buying my new toy from a non-profit dealer in Wheatridge-- which also happens to be a Rising Sun member. (Thanks Art!!!) He gave me a very fair deal and I couldn't be happier. Great guy.

Yes Matt, he does know what happened to the last rig. Lol. And being a guide at cruise Moab, he also understood that "$#it happens" :) this rig will receive the benefit of the lessons learned at the expense of the 2001. I hope to not take this rig, and those lessons for granted.

I got to work on the old dog today, the stereo was what I would describe as "woefully inadequate"--all of the speakers were completely shot. But no worry, my old cherokee's crazy, teenage worthy, 2000 watt stereo is already moving over.

Any progress on Frosty?

That's a big ol' negative ghostrider. Still too busy. Just basically rebuilt a "free" ATV for Claire, took up a ton of time. Still situating the house from getting the carpet replaced, yadda yadda... Someday.

I guess I did get the transmission 2nd gear controller swapped into it, that's progress right?

Been getting a little bit of work done on project XJ2.0

Been working on getting things ready, didn't want to start into the new rig until I get the leaky heater core fixed. Had my AC system evacuated today, so now I can start on that process. Probably remove the heater assembly Friday night, and hopefully have it back together Saturday while everyone is out getting dusty :)

Got the 2001 all torn down except for the drivetrain and suspension. Think I got a good lead on selling the motor and grand today, hope it pans out. There's a whole lot of money in parts sitting in my garage right now. Cleaning up and freshening all the protective bits for their new home.

Had to cut out a section of pipe on the side of my poor bashed up ARB and replace it. Hopefully once painted, it'll look somewhat normal.

New paint on the rear bumper.. it lost a lot in Moab. haha. Still got a bit of work to do on those sliders.

Looks nice Luke.

By the way is that a nitrous bottle on Claire's ATV? :hillbilly:

She wishes!... But no, That's my Viair tank ;) so many parts, just scattered everywhere. Working on changing my heater core right now, what an unbelievable disaster that is. I'd rather change the engine and transmission...

Sold the transfer case from the old Jeep and the whole front half of the drivetrain yesterday for 700 bucks. By the time this is all over, I should only be out about $2,000. But that doesn't bother me, because the engine and transmission are in much better shape on the new Jeep. I was looking at possibly having to rebuild both on the old Jeep. This event may have actually saved me money. :D

The new Jeep has benefitted from having stock tires and a tow package that added a transmission cooler all its life, so the fluid is nice and red... Not the brownish- used cooking oil color in the old Jeep's transmission.
