Nice! That was the one I was looking at, too. How good's the insulation for the cabinet?

It was around 40 here last night, it kept the temp perfect, it is under my carport, they have an excellent forum, and the customer service has only praises.......one reason I went with them, there is lots of discussion on the forum I read, go over there and see what they have lots of info on modification upgrades etc.....I did some Country Style Pork ribs last night......4 hrs @250, carried them to work this morning, everyone raved on them, my younger brother, who normally does not care for pork raved over them.....I think I am really gonna love this thing.

I think you're gonna need a new college-aged neighbor with a black pickup. :D

I look forward to seeing whatever amazing things leaving that cabinet you end up posting up here on 'Mud!

You need to do brisket in there, its sooooooooooooooooooo awesome slow smoked.

whatever you do watch craigslist if you're not in a hurry. I picked up an almost brand new (use 2-3 times) Traeger for half price. My wife thought it was new when I brought it home.

I researched most before I bought the Bradley, what made me decide is the customer service, and the forum where the owners share recipes and such, as for the pucks, I live in a small town where any wood chunks/charcoal etc is not available, the pucks if ordered online are $32 / 120 .....if you smoked for 12 hrs you will use 36 pucks, around $10, plus you can get woods that we can't get here.......apple mesquite etc.

Those are ridiculous.

I have an old metal fridge with a gas hotplate in the bottom where the compressor was. The metal seperating the two compartments has about 50 holes drilled in it. Great insulation and great results!!!

I bought a smoke hollow vertical smoker today because I found it on clearance at academy. Has pretty decent reviews on line, though... so Im stoked. I saved about $50 + shipping over the best internet price I've found.

My favorite line from the user's manual:

"Do not use resinous woods such as pine or plywood. These usually result in unpleasant flavoring."

I can vouch for this..

Chad, someday I will pick your brain. There is one of those old fridges in a remote canyon, I just haven't had the time to fetch it yet.

Now I'm wishing we'd kept one of the three old 40's vintage fridges my great aunt had rat-holed away in her garage next to my great-uncles old still. That's a neat idea.
Bigdn, if I manage to find one of these, I'll be dropping you a line for details.

Hey I'm all about rigging and making s*** , however, I'm 55, a PITA to buy for at BDay and Christmas....got 3 kids that make more money than me, and are eager to buy for Dad when I find something I want. You have no idea until you have seen one of these in action how nice it is to pre heat, program it and relax. I have 2 other smokers. one 500 gallon reserve flow tank smoker and this one which is a cooking SOB, same basic design and principle as your Ice box smoker....
