skid plates

i normally throw out my skid plates since they only seem to collect mud...
i ahve been thinking of bending tubs to replace the skid plates since this woudl allow the mud to be removed and could be modified for particular applications...
 
Yah I second the tube Idea. Would not be easy though. You would need a rally big bending machine to get the pipe big enough to be of protection.
 
that works but not what i had in mind. i am thinking front cross tube, rear cross tub and tubes running front to beack between the frotn and rear tubes...
maybe this week i will give the idea a try..
 
That could be pretty cool Wayne, definitely easier to clean. I'd still put just a little plate directly under the lowest part of the t-case tho to protect against stray rocks.

I saw a plate that protected the t/case on a 40 series once.
It was like the OEM 70 series bash plate but replaced the crossmember as well.
Would be a great idea if someone got it into production:D
