Gonna try to tackle the turbo this week . Anyone know what you do with the turbo oil line that has an inverted flare fitting on it ? I believe it is the supply line . Just wondering what to do with that end in particular ?

Ordered all the elbows ,t-bolts ,tubing oil lines and fitting for the turbo today . Also got the exhaust pipe welded onto the flange and ordered the flex-joint . gonna run the flex joint vertically right below the outlet on the turbo then turn it toward the rear and try to squeeze a 3" down the inside of the passenger frame rail . I'll post some pics of it all tomorrow if any of it comes in . Got the bung welded in the pan as well , Gonna use 5/8 line for the return . Also gonna plumb the water cooling as well . Ordered a set of autometer gauges which I'm going to try to sneak in on the dashpad to the left of the wheel .

Thats roughly the same setup I have except 2.5"

The only spot I had problems was right next to my transfer case. There's a wire coming out to tell you if you're in 4 or 2wd and its pretty close to my exhaust. Also the cross member that I had to make to accommodate my drive shaft required me to crush down the exhaust tubing a little bit to sneak it through there. It doesn't rattle in day to day driving unless I am off camber then it rattles and distracts me :bang:

I think the 60 has a bit more room in there than the 40 so you should be fine :hillbilly:

I did notice that my floor gets really really warm (probably because I have aqualu tub on the 40 and no carpet ect inside) I am hoping that exhaust wrap and a heat shield will solve this problem....

turbo time

Well all the stuff finally showed up to install the turbo . Started by removing the old manifold then mounted the new one . I set the turbo in place with the adapter I had made prior but ended up having to move it forward a couple of inches to give a little room for the pipe out the back . Got the oil feed line plumbed . Gonna remove the pan today . I have a pan already made with a npt bung welded into it so should be fairly quick . I found some smaller delco batteries that will allow me to run the intercooler lines through the rad support between the batteries and rad . I have enough tube to build the exhaust till where it turns toward the rear . I'm thinking by this afternoon I'll be coating that area in soot .

She is whistling quite nicely . Turned up the fuel about 2.5 turns . The boost maxes out about 12 psi not sure about egt's yet (haven't got the pyro hooked up) tomorrow I'll know . Holy s*** does it pull now . Super excited to try it up to washington to see the mileage and how it pulls up the hill . I think I can probably go to 37" tires and still be fine pulling up grades . I'll take a bunch of pics tomorrow in the daylight .

With out re gearing, it may be a 4th gear rig on 37s.

It is re-geared to 4.88 not sure what you mean by 4th gear rig ? It hauls ass in 5th up hills right now .

Iffin you left it with stock gears you would only use 4th, but with the gears you have no problem using fifth.....

Boost seems low. Is the waste gate opening?

The only reason I say is because others with 2.5 turns are seeing boost in the 20's. I'm at less than a turn (7/8 or so) and can raise 14lbs.

I think there are too many variables to determine the difference . It makes great power and i can climb hills in 5th without getting too hot . Going to washington in the morning so that'll be the first test run . I only have about two feet of exhaust out of the turbo currently but it's not too bad . I currently have the waste gate wired shut .

Well , had a few leaks at the base of the turbo . (now sealed ) Making a constant 5lbs at highway speed and can get it to 10 easily . Gets up to 1100 degrees max on big hills . Had it up to washington a few times now . Decided to get some 37's . Got a set yesterday . The testing continues . Wheels really well (with the exception on a broken motor mount .
