Anybody have a nice set of kabob skewers and a set for hotdogs/roasting marshmallows?

I saw a skewers set that a friend had for dogs and marshmallows but knowing their income, I'm sure I could not buy those ;)

After seeing splits kabobs, it reminded me that I'm low on the number of kabobs I can make and this weekend's family outing, smores will be done too slow for the kids liking at my house so I'm looking for advise...

Thanks,

Never had a problem with the standard bamboo ones.

folks argue that they burn, but, if they're on the heat long enough to burn through, your flame's too hot, and you're cooking your meat too long!

okay, I understand.
Restaurant supply stores have them in the 18 inch range. If you want to go for metal ones, look for ones that are "sword-like": flat, instead of round, with a looped, or hilted end for turning.

The flat nature is crucial, because if they're perfectly round, the meat will just roll on the axis of the skewer

:hhmm:

when I was a kid...we used these for roasting marshmallows...

from what I recall...they weren't very expensive...we did have to untwist them...but :meh: it gave us something to do...

For "fancier" skewers, I use these. They hold up well to relatively high heat and they're kinda pretty to look at...not too pricey when you get them in bulk...

I've purchased from "pickonus.com" in the past. great service.

Someone just posted these the other day. I looked online and couldn't find them for sale.
