I’m currently running an OME medium‑weight 2.5" lift on my 2003 LX470 with about 80K miles on the setup. I’m considering upgrading the shocks to Dobinsons MRRs and swapping the rear springs for their variable‑rate option.

My question is: to maintain my current ride height, should I go with the C59‑175V (rated for a 2.5" lift with up to 220 lbs constant load), or the C59‑223V (1–1.75" lift)? My assumption is that the C59‑175V would be the correct choice since I’m already at 2.5", but I’ve read that Dobinsons springs often provide more lift than advertised.

Also, I’m assuming my current OME torsion bars will be fine and there’s no real reason to switch to the Dobinsons torsion bars. Any input or experience would be appreciated.

Also, are the MRA socks way overkill for an all around overlanding vehicle? Should I stick with the IMS versions?

Is there an issue with your current set up?
Other than it being a stiffer ride than I’d prefer, not really. Just looking for something that will be smoother off-road and on pot holes…
