Lots of RTT info, but seems like always wife, kids, dogs.....so I now have a Maggiolina Extreme
in small. It's incredible, and great in cold miserable weather too. But looking to see if there are smaller single person tents so I can also have small canoe or kayak as well. I theoretically can mount 40 lbs on the Maggi, and I have 2 canoes that weigh in at 41 lbs, but I'm concerned about stressing the linkage/worm gear on the tent. So if anyone has pics and experience of carrying smaller tent and watercraft, post up pics and experience please. Or if you have a Maggi like mine and have successfully carried canoes without issues, please let me know. I really don't want to replace the Maggi.
Also, for now - not interested in towing a trailer. Here is a pic of my truck now. J

Looks cool, but won't work. When that pops forward the boats on top will strike the hood.
It is also appreciably larger than what I've got.

Just replying to the Tent Cot thread, sounds like that would be the best option for you. For 1/10th the price and essentially all the same advantages to the RTT (aside from being on top of the truck). You can setup on rocks/mud, whatever.
