Side Window Defrost Tubes and Windshield Knobs (1 Viewer)

If a 40 came with the side window defrost tubes does it get hex head bolts in place of the large knobs?

My 78’ AUS spec truck came with knobs.

Yes you need to use hex head bolts instead of the large plastic knob.

any one with pictures? my 77 doesn’t have defrost tubes but i have them to add as my rebuild progresses

If you are drilling a hole in the dash to install the defrost tubes maybe if you lower the hole approx 1/4 to 3/8 so the tube barely touches the lower dash you may be able to use the knob instead of the hex bolt. Here is a pic of my 83 fj40 showing factory position of the defrost tubes.
