read many many posts about this problem.
1999 lc 300,000 miles
upon acceleration shudder
miss at idle
lack of power on acceleration
determined NOT driveline related
suspected coil issue
removed coil plugs while running
one at a time, each cyl affected eng sound
(unplug maf sensor so engine runs with
air box off) this was at idle....not able to diagnose
NEXT
had friend put cruiser in gear hold brakes then hold RPM at 2500-3000
disconnected coil plugs
one at time
NOW found number 3 coil made no eng difference when unplugged
replaced coil
RUNS LIKE NEW!!!!
this is a coil issue.
