Should I replace the CV boots or entire shaft?

My Landcruiser 2005 is close to 370,000km and I believe it was towing a caravan at some stage in its life. The clip seat at the end of the axle looks pretty worn out, but holds. Outer CV boot is leaking right from where it is attached to the hub.
I can buy new boots and go through the process of disassembly-assembly with a lot of grease in between, but I don't think I have competence to judge how worn out the CV joint are. Taken the mileage, would I be better served buying genuine replacement driveshafts?

I would get new ones and then keep the original CV, as emergency backup. And when you have more free time or funds you can repair the boot.

There is also a sale going on , -20% and free ship, Toyota sale, 25% off wholesale and free shipping WOW - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/toyota-sale-25-off-wholesale-and-free-shipping-wow.1320195/

For the clip, you should check if the axle itself , the metal, is really eaten out. Or is it just the clip got loose over time. You should buy a new clip, and an axle puller if you're going to reinstall this. And make sure the clip you buy is the right one, as there are thicker and thinner ones. I would just get a variety of clip sizes, and try, as they're not expensive.

For the CV you should check the health of the teeth. So check if your flange, has a lot of play, wiggle it left and right, if you can hear it clicking with the metal, it's time for a new CV, and time for a new flanges as well. I personally replaced both CV axle and flanges. Flange are not so expensive, you will also need buy the paper gasket thing. If you're replacing this CV axle I would also consider replacing the front and inner bearings (if they haven't been done in a while), and the seal, and replace the washers. The bearings are pricey but the other parts are not expensive. Then repack and grease the bearings and then pre-load it back to spec.

I have some pictures on page 2 of my build thread that can help you. I went through basically the same thing.
