no appology needed, your a butt head trying to defend a product that can't be defended.
agreed, blame the importers...never blame the uninformed, uneducated buyer...man is that ever like our society, never your fault always someone elses. butt head.

if you want to blame somebody blame the importers that first brought these in. monkey see monkey doo!

I don't think this is a fair assessment. The first importers would not have known the potential problems of these vehicles driven on Canadian highways.

They just saw a neat truck on coils, with a small desirable diesel. Which it still is. Just one that I would not want to trust.

I personally with kids to feed would not want to have to depend on one. If it was second vehicle to play with, great. But the looming threat of losing a head is too much when I have to make my mortgage payment each month and provide groceries.

Importers who still sell these are being asses. But all buyers need to be informed. I always search online before I buy a vehicle.

dude, butt head was used in jest...
when you get comfortable with someone you start to feel more relaxed when it comes to digs etc... i guess i was wrong. sorry. similar to my bantering with BJ44 and that bloke from NZ about intercoolers... maybe i am TOO relaxed here now...

butt head, hoser both are meant to be taken lightly...i will try and refrain from such outbursts...

My brother-in-law drives a 2.4 Prado in Hokkaido, Japan. With the cracked head, it overheats up hills in summer, but still runs and he still drives it. Hokkaidio is cold and snowy much like Calgary, but his Prado start fine every time, all winter long.

As for the Prado's 2.4 woes, I can't figure out why 1) anyone would buy this truck without researching it and 2) why none of the JDM importers in Canada are importing the Prado 3.0, which is a much better engine. Maybe they're not 15 years old yet?
