I had this idea for awhile and finally got a chance to figure it out. Cost about $25 and took about a half hour, I could do it again in two minutes. The holder is from pep boys $8 and the shifter is from advanced auto $17. Pop the covers off of the shifter to reveal two posts. Drill two holes in the cell holder with an 1/8" drill and put it together. I would have used glue but it was so snug i don't think i'll need it. The only problem is the transfer case does vibrate a bit but its not too bad. It is in a perfect place when using the phone with my arm on the rest.

oh very nice!!!

hahahaa....that's kinda cool and about the only thing you can do with bolt on bling that isn't gay looking

rough with a sand paper, spray paint will cure that!!!

I imagine that it might shake the hell out of the phone there, how is it?

I take it you don't use low-range very often?

??

Was wondering that myself. :hhmm:

That knob does have a primary purpose, you know that right?

Great thinking - love the location. Just a head's up on the vibration, though. That transfer lever location is literally like the electronics torture test beds and I'd DEFINITELY expect a shortened life from the iPhone. I have left things simply leaning against it during a road trip such as a walky talky, and a cassette tape and had them inoperable.

Great idea. Seems like one might be able to dampen or isolate the vibration depending on how the holder is connected to the shifter.

Well is been installed for a good day now and I'd have to say it's pretty mint. I'll put it low tomorrow for ya;)

PS - you do know the iPhone's got accelerometers in it, right? They're going to get the living hell beat out of them and Apple will show it's got a hundred hours of 30mhz vibration and 12gs recorded for some reason. Hmmmmmm.....

Seriously - bad idea for your phone.

This thing looks so good. However the forum consensus seems to be that its a no go because the vibrations will damage your phone?

That's really cool, but I use Low often enough that this would probably piss me off eventually.

While not my cup of tea, it sure looks nicely made and functional.
