Played hooky today and did some exploring with @PeeZed . Found some super fun trails, and got ourselves to the destination we wanted to reach. Sherk Lake is a little north of Cowichan Lake and a neat little spot. Definite fish activity in that lake. Beautiful Fall day. Bit of smoke from the California fires moving in is all. Lots of pictures of the day here: Sept 30, 2020 Sherk Lake

Didn't really get any pictures as I was too busy driving, but there were some very narrow quad trails we had to weave our way through. 40 or 70 series friendly only I think....

60? Looks cool. Have to look that up. Did you create a gpx.file with gps Nick?
Email it if you did create it, let me see if I can load into my topo program.

@cruiserpilot, there are two ways to get to the main FSR. The one we took in would not be fun in the 60, but the one we took out would be, with only a few tight spots.

I'd be more concerned about your paint job though as the last km of trail to the lake gave the 70's some new pinstriping. But if you don't care about that then outside of a few branches dinging stuff up then your 60 would be great.

Thanks, I’ll have to try it out. I had my roof racks stripped from the 60 following an ATV trail
this trip, willows taller than my roof! Pinstriping is ok.

Hi Jon, I do have a GPS trail, but not sure how to make a file out of it... I can just describe to you how to get in there. I don't want to make it public though, so by PM or phone is best. The area we got into opens into all sorts of interesting stuff with tons of roads, trails and destinations. Definitely would like to get back out there if you're up for it sometime.

Very Cool guys. It makes me want to get my truck trail worthy and go exploring.

It reminds me of the area I used to explore off Millstream Rd. It used to be a lot of fun. Now it’s pricey houses and big box stores. I even explored some of it on an old Yamaha YG5, I foolishly sold, and my F650 BMW (very heavy and too tall geared for tight trails). :D

I'm still surprised to see @PeeZed out there risking a scratch to the golden goose.

I figgered that thing would be parked under glass on a red velvet cushion. :flipoff2:

Obviously I should've taken you up on your offer to paint my truck rattle can pink before advertising it 🤟
