Yeah, from that Beyonce song.

Something about, "I'mma let you work up on it, check up on it."

Look - it's early, I might not be fully awake, and that's the best I could do to add some spice to your life.

Poop, there's a Spice Girls reference.

I quit

Ummm, apparently we r into different kinds of music. Don't worry. I won't tell anybody.

I really appreciate everybody looking for me though.

Don't worry Sheila, I got this handled. I'll find a #40 in no time

I see lots of "40" self defense weapons that shoot bullets for sale.

Since I'm losing my job September 30th, I have a lead on a really nice, restored 40 that is 95% original and doing nothing but sitting in a pole barn in Michigan. Comes with spare parts, a roof rack, & 2 jerry cans. It can be seen here:

Price is negotiable.

You lack certain criteria, Brian :D

V8
AUTO

4 seater
Full body
streetable
Leaf springs
Good condition ( body can be cut or in need of)
10-20k
Would love
Coil over / 4link
60/14 built axles

Why don't you buy the V8 40 that was in Florence. It is lacking many things on the list but you could put money into the things you want instead of paying for things other people did. Take time off the zuk and make a sweet 40.

Because it was garbage.

He's the deal. It is very hard to find an FJ-40 that has been built right. Generally, Cruiser folks are in the bottom 3 of the cheapest SOB's in the industry (just above Mini owners and Zuk guys)

They like to do things old-school, and often they cut corners where if they tried about 20% harder, their junk would drive straight down the road, would corner decent and would run and stop when you wanted it to.

So, you basically get what you pay for. If you want a nice street 40, there are a few out there. If you want a nice trail rig, there are a few more.

If you want a Gen III, IV GM motor....your numbers just tanked.....add built axles to that, yep, you guessed it.....even fewer.

Something like George bought are few and far between. Remember, that truck was for sale for about a year before Georg bought it. I liked it over here 3-4 times before it sold.

Nolen, what do you think about this one?

We all pretty much thought it was worth a look thats why i packed up and drove 8 hours to see it. It was pretty hacked up unfortunately and more work then i felt like doing. Young owner real nice guy. He wouldnt go below 10k. I thought it was worth 7k.
Death wobble ( even though i retightened ubolts/ checked tie rods)
Needed new tcase
Th350 was run without kickdown cable
Body wasn't in good shape
Floor was hacked
Rear pinion turned 1/4 before engaged.
Seats mounted too high. 1/2 inch head clearance and i am 5'9".
Rear cage needed to be redone
Motor was strong though dynoed at 250hp to the wheels

There are some deals out there.
I realize that we may have to compromise on what we are looking for to stay in the price range we are looking at. The timing just sucks right now. Thats why we need to stay in price range.

Ideally
body in good condition
v8, auto, atlas (or other strong tcase)
Heavy duty built axles with air locker

Compromise
Would settle on built or just locked 40 axles. I can replace em later.
Tcase i could replace later if need be as well.

I am trying to avoid somethings if i could.
Main thing is V8 /tranny swap tcase would save tons of time trying to figure out what fits/ goes with what tranny/ wiring etc. Big time saver there.

Ultimately looking for a solid base to build on over time. Not looking to spend a big chunk out of the box.

OOOOOooooooohhhhhh...

Sorry, Lenny. That's a really downer :frown:

Hope you find something you all like!!!

No idea what it has under the hood, or what aspects of your criteria it would or would not meet, but I saw a pretty good condition red 40 sitting on a lot at Massey Loans in Senatobia the other day, corner of Hwy 51 and Hwy 4. If you have any interest I looked up the phone number: (662) 562-5238.

justin's 40.........now mine

i knew justins rig pretty well before i bought it. my partner don built the cage in it and i'd wheeled with him. so when it came up for sale a year ago for $23.5 i almost bought it but he decided to keep it. then when he posted it again i had to pull the trigger. no looking back. great deal on a great rig.

sheilala and lenny, ii think nolen has a couple of solid rigs lined up for y'all. john's is badass but might be "too trail ready" and not as streetable as you need. yonkman's sounds really promising.

fingers crossed!

georg

Hang on a freakin minute!

CLC bylaws clearly state that you must build your 40. No 40 can be bought/imported that exceeds the current capabilities of every single other 40 in the club. Ha!

I can't wait to see Sheilala wheeling the birfs out of it!

If it is the red one with dc2 wheels and swampers it has a 454 under the hood. If i remember the axles are stock though. Saw it on ebay a while back.
