I think the seller is a mud member but not 100% sure. I saw a thread that he created but cannot find it now.
He accepted my offer of $32, so give a try.
I would like to take you up on the $99 shipped for the tensioner and serpentine for my 98 Land Cruiser. What would be the ETA to 77406? Also could I pick it up local from you in Houston since I'm in Richmond. Thanks.I can do $99 shipped for the Genuine Toyota tensioner and Mitsuboshi serpentine belt ( OE Toyota Supplier ).[/QAR
Pull the serpentine belt off the tensioner, spin the pulley, if it grinds, makes noise, or spins for a long time, chances are you'd have good results at least replacing the bearing. Tensioners also loose tension over time so if it's your original one, might not be a bad idea.So is there a way to check what item is bad before going through all of this?
I have a whine, it doesn’t appear to be affected by the A/C or power steering...
I held a stethoscope to some of the pulleys, but as you know, there is not much room in there, I couldn’t find anything.
I don’t want to rip all of this stuff off only to learn it is unrelated....doesn’t look like I can just hook a rachet to anything to lossen the tension and test where the issue is....??

Ehh, once you do it once it's not bad. Just pay attention to how the belt is routed in case it slips off any other pulleys. It would be a good time to spin all pulleys just in case. How many miles ya got?

Excellent thread, i just finished replacing my idler, tension pulley, and belt. The tensioner bearing was gone it was freely spinning. The chirping is gone but i still have a whine like a supercharger between 2200-2300rpm cant figure out what it could be. Power steering pump?
I would check your charging system...I too I initially thought my whine was power steering related....I flushed the system but the whine still stayed.
As you prolly read above, mine was the alternator.
The numbers are correct any other way to check the charging system other than checking its voltage? Hmm it did start after i went offroading a few months back maybe its just full of dust and i can blow it out with compressed air.
