It's now the 19th and still no group decision. Any body have plans on heading out and doing some camping/wheeling?

Sue and Shane from Kelowna emailed me and said Greystokes area is out due to fires. They did seem to like the trail that Phil pointed out on the BC4X4 link. I saw Rob at the Offroad Expo and he mentioned the Carpenter Lake / Gold Bridge area.

Anyone interseted in either of these? If so, do we have a volunteer for trail boss?

Hi Craig

Which trail did Phil point out?

Doing the Hurley Pass to somewhere in that area sounds like an interesting plan.

I know there are a couple folks who lurk here and know that area. I don't. But, we could always simply explore and find out! What other loops in that area other then windy ridge?

Kookipi/Nahatlatch/Westside/Yalakom/Mud Lakes/Hurley Pass...?

me!!!!!!!!!!
I need to get out of here for a few days at least before it's starts raining and snowing again
don't know where
don't really care at this time either

Who knows the trails on Apex mountain - where the turtles were jamming?.

If no one then lets do the Hurley, which was the plan prior to Churn Creek took priority, since the Hurley did not open till June 22 this year.

Dokie Ridge!?

I'm out. We're heading to Kelowna to hang with Shane, Sue and Alexis. We'll do some day trippin' around the area if the fires are under control.

I am currently in the process of going insane and thinking of quitting all my contracts in favour of unemployment and begging for food. Work has me stupidly swamped and it looks like this long weekend is no exception. I really hope that changes.

Dear Mr. Phantom:
Insanity is a significant pre-requesite for owning and maintaining a Land Cruiser. Insanity also lends itself well to driving through mud bogs, log jams, rockpiles and lakeshore toejam. As for your employment issues, THIS IS WHY WE PAY YOU THE BIG BUCKS!
Besides, you get all the bar girls so quitchrbellyach'n!
~Yours truly,
Unemployed since 1999.

Tenquille Lake

Has anyone gone into Tenquille Lake ? - it is about 10 km off of the Hurley FSR accessed from Branch 12. Branch 12 is about 4.0 km from the Hurley turnoff from the Upper Lillooet FSR north of Pemberton Meadows.

It says in the Backroad Mapbook (Vancouver, Coast & Mountains edition) that "Tenquille Lake is a beautiful alpine lake set in a meadows surrounded by rugged mountain peaks. At the lake is a cabin together with a recreation site for camping. The lake is extremely popular with backpackers, mountaineers, snowmobilers, and even extreme mountain bikers" If it is any good, we should consider this for our first night, or hit it along the way.

Who can make it Friday? and who can make it Saturday? In any event we need a bit of a plan.

Nope, never been there...and can probably get away Friday...but have to finalize things over the next little while.

I'm, good for Friday. I don't know the area, so I'll just be following. Maybe we can get Flycruiser to do the leading, he seems to know the Hurley Pass--Carpenter Lake ---Mud Lakes area fairly well.
