See update in post number 23. I finally decided to dive into these now that Downey is not making them any more. I went ahead and changed a couple of things based on my own experience running them.

One, the actual u-bolt holes on the top side of the plate are slightly larger, which helps accomodate some of the heavy-duty replacement bolts sold by companies like Rancho. The center pin bolt is also slightly larger. This was to take care of an intermittent problem with some replacement leaf spring center pin nuts.

Two, the holes in the bottom plate are also slightly larger, which accomdates getting some [note I am saying some, not ALL] impact sockets used for installing the larger nylocs used on some replacement U-bolts. There has never been an issue when reinstalling stock or OE spec u-bolts.

Three, the gusset between the top and bottom plates is integrated in the top plate. This not only streamlines the production for me, but gets a better 'hold' for the gusset on the top plate than some of the tack-welded ones I've seen. I have never seen a gusset fail, but I decided this change was for the better regardless.

Plates without shock mounts are currently in stock and ready to ship for $69 a pair. Plates with shock pins will be available in about a week and will run $84 a pair BUT.........if you pre-order and make payment arrangements by next Friday [April 2nd] I will offer those for $79.00 a pair.

Flat rate USPS ship for $15. Add $3 for paypal.

Thanks for looking.:)

Interesting. I just realized this is a 8 year old thread with over 2000 views, and NO COMMENTS!

I'll have to get me a few of these. Been on my list of things to call you about for prob a year : )

Sounds good. I am starting to run low on these, and like a number of my proprietary items, I’m having second thoughts about tying up the money in another production run.

2,000 views and no comments— has to be a MUD record; hard to break that one.

Well, it’s d-Day tomorrow. If I place another order, the price will be going up $10/pr. Right now, based on slow sales, I’m ready to let this go. Another sign of the times.

They're cool, but I went with the U-bolt flip kit to get additional clearance. That said, before I did that, I used to get hung up on tree branches and stuff with the U-bolts hanging down and a skid plate would have worked nicely.

$79/pr for the standard, $97/Pr with the shock pin. I am discontinuing the FJ60 rear plates with a close out at the old $87/pr price.

Thanks for your interest.
